Alentejo is located in the south of Portugal, covering a third of the land and there we can find the most unique landscapes. It is a beautiful,mostly agricultural region, remarkable for its wide horizons, filled with soft hills that change color along the year, from deep brown to green with white, red and purple, to golden sunsets. As the warmest weathered region in Portugal, its inhabitants are known for their slow-paced, easy-going lifestyle So, if you are there, do like the Alentejanos, and do it slowly. No stress, please.
We are also famous for our hospitality, typical cuisine and good wine. And with Alentour you can find that and a lot more of our culture and habits. From the cost to the inland everything is very different and unique.
Alentour was created in 2016 in orderd to show to the world my vision, my passion and my adventures about my land and my people. We show in a personalized way the best that exists outsider the touristic routes.
We know the best places such as waterfalls, deserted beaches, the countryside, the real Alentejo like the a local would know.
Cork fields, old villages, historical places and much more ... the points of interest that only locals know.
Alentour also cares and supports the regional producers and for that we can recomend goods products for you and for you to share with your friends and family. Not forgetting our famous gastronomy, we only take our customers to the best restaurants that are sometimes out of the tourist’s knowledge, we look for the most typical and traditional without forgetting the quality.
The activities developed by Alentour are customized to fulfil our customer’s needs. From jeep tours, hiking,off-road electric bicycles, canoeing to birdwtching. Everything is personalized in time, distance (kilometrage) and on the difficulty level. All the tours are assisted with an experienced guide.
In order to provide a high quality service and in safety we develop our activities with smaller groups (up to 6 persons).
Every program we perform it can be reorganized and add other activities like: Horseback ridings, diving, surf, stand-up paddle and other traditional activities with the locals such as bread making, cheese production, olive oil, tapestry, crafts in leather among others activities.

A morning with the shepherd and his herd in the mount in Santiago do Cacém – Alentejo
Itenerary:
•Departure from the agreed location in a 4x4 jeep, the path taken it will be in the moutains in unpaved roads;
•meeting with the shepherd in the mount, there is the possibility to see how the milking is done in order to see the procedures for the cheese making. This can change from the time of the year.
During this activity there will be a snack with regional products ( charcuterie, cheeses, wine, juices, water and seasonal fruit)

Geep tour in dessert beaches and lagoons with lunch in a restaurant nearby the lagoon
Itenerary:
•Meet in a local to be defined, tour off road track through the hills until reaching the dunes that will take us to extraordinary orange toned cliffs. •Where we have single tracks leading us to golden sand beaches and clear water.
•Then we will reach certain dunes that take us to rice fields, near lagoa de melides and lagoa de santo andre.
•The lunch will have place in a typical restaurant with fresh fish as a must-have.
•After that there it is a walkway in a natural reserve where it can be seen various wild animals in their natural habitat.

Hiking in the alentejo coast with a guide
Our activities can differt the level of difficulty or distance in order to meet our client’s performance.
For example, hiking for about 20km (approximately 5hours) to discover the rural area of Santiago do Cacém, throught historical farms, cultivated areas, forests of cork trees, moutains and hills until reaching the coast of Santo andre, where we db have the lagoon and the sea.

(After lunch the the transfer is for the pick up point)
We have 170km of walking routes divided in 7 sectors. Each sector has 20km that can be made with the tour guide where you can discover the nature in their pure state in the county of santiago do Cacém such as moutains, lagoons, rivers, villages, historical routes,....

•Pick up point to be defined, depending on the choosen Itenerary the clients can leave the pick up point walking or with the transfer until the starting point and then the way back to the hotel, it is included in the package.

Off road Electric bicycles tours
Our activities can differt the level of difficulty or distance in order to meet our client’s performance.
With or without experience riding a electric bicycle in off road tracks is very safe, easy and confortable. We have full suspension bicycles with different sizes to meet our clients needs and for them to take full advantage and enjoy their ride.
The ride is done in a rural area where we travel through the mountains,crossing rivers and streams with crystal water
On its way we will be able to see a bit of the rural life, historical places with unique landscapes, villages and farms. Always with a guide explaining the different locals and their history. the tour with 40km is easily done even without any experience in riding bikes.
